Incoming Transfers

Goldman Sachs

Please use the Account Transfer Form. Depending on the delivering firm’s policies, additional instructions/signatures may be required. If you are not sure what the delivering firm requires, please contact us so that we can assist you.

Goldman Sachs offers two methods of transferring assets, ACAT and Non-ACAT.

  • ACAT Transfers (4-5 business days):

ACAT transfers typically complete in 4-5 business days and offer a streamlined process for eligible firms.

    • Complete the Account Transfer Form
    • Only available for ACAT-eligible delivering firms
    • Supports in-kind transfers only - any liquidation instructions will cause automatic rejection
    • Ensure clients liquidate all non-holdable assets at the delivering firm before submitting the transfer request
    • DocuSign signatures are accepted for all documentation
    • All signatures must be dated within 60 days of submission
  • Non-ACAT Transfers (2-3 weeks):

Non-ACAT transfers typically take 2-3 weeks to complete, with timing largely dependent on the delivering firm's processes.

    • Complete the Account Transfer Form
    • Include a recent account statement dated within 90 days for all Non-ACAT transfers
    • DocuSign is accepted by Goldman Sachs; however, the delivering firm may require manual signatures
    • All signatures must be dated within 60 days of submission
    • Be prepared for the delivering firm to request their own paperwork or original documents in addition to our forms
  • Annuity Transfers

Annuity transfers typically take 2-3 weeks to complete and have specific requirements:

    • Complete the Account Transfer Form
    • Annuities can only be transferred as Non-ACAT transfers
    • Goldman Sachs cannot accept annuities in-kind or process 1035 exchanges
    • All annuities must be either fully or partially surrendered before transfer
    • For penalty-free amount surrenders, include specific instructions under the liquidation option
    • Contact the annuity company before submitting paperwork - many require their own surrender forms
    • Include a recent account statement dated within 90 days
    • DocuSign is accepted by Goldman Sachs, but the annuity company may require manual signatures
