Custodial (UGMA/UTMA) Account Transfers

• If the minor wishes to internally transfer their account or withdraw the assets before they are of age, the requirements are as follows: 
  • Internal Transfer
    • Notarized Freedom Letter of Instruction signed by the custodian and minor to authorize release of the assets to the custodian
    • OneAp for custodian’s Individual account
  • Withdrawal
    • Withdrawal Request for Non-Qualified Accounts Form signed by the custodian and minor
• If the minor is of age of maturity in the state in which the account was established, they may choose to move their assets internally into an account in their name or Folio will pay the assets to them directly via check. The requirements are as follows: 
  • Internal Transfer
    • OneAp for a new Individual account
    • Internal Account Transfer Form signed by the new account owner
  • Withdrawal
    • Withdrawal Request for Non-Qualified Accounts Form signed by the minor

*Please note that we cannot directly send assets from the UGMA/UTMA account to anyone except the custodian and/or minor.
